Oil & Gas
Fabrication and welding for oil, gas and petrochemical projects
DMS Stainless Fabrications was established in 1992 to serve the food and petrochemical industries, and provides manufacturing and fabrication services for organisations working in the offshore oil and gas industries. We manufacture stainless fabrications, special purpose equipment, pressure vessels and pipework for the chemical and petrochemical sectors.
For many years DMS has been a preferred supplier to companies working in the subsea oil industry, machine TIG welding hydraulic couplings and weldments that are in service throughout the world.
Send your drawings for a quotation on oil and gas components.

How our services apply to oil and gas work
Services we can apply to oil, gas and petrochemical work:
- Machine TIG welding: precision welding lathes for couplings and circumferential components.
- Super Duplex pipework welding: Duplex and Super Duplex procedures with comprehensive corrosion testing.
- Orbital welding of Duplex: autogenous butt welds on small to medium diameter pipe.
- Inconel fabrication and welding: Inconel, Monel and Hastelloy.
- Chemical fabrication: pressure vessels, special purpose equipment and pipework.
Fabricated equipment can be assembled, inspected, tested and proof run before despatch. Read about inspection, assembly and testing.

Welding for demanding service conditions
Couplings in volume
Machine TIG lathes weld butt and socket joints with an extremely high degree of repeatability.
Super Duplex control
Weld and raw material ferrite testing, in-house or on site visits.
Corrosion-tested procedures
Duplex and Super Duplex procedures include comprehensive corrosion testing.
Dissimilar metals
Procedures include stainless to Super Duplex and Monel to Super Duplex.
Confined spaces
Enclosed orbital weld heads suit subsea applications where space is limited.
Coded weld records
Bespoke software captures weld data in real time and traces each component.
Oil and gas applications we can support
Our services are suited to items such as:
- Subsea hydraulic couplings and weldments
- Pressure vessels, housings and flanged fabrications
- Duplex, Super Duplex and stainless pipework
- Process skids, frames and special purpose equipment
See subsea equipment in our gallery.

Special alloys and dissimilar joints
Our TIG welding procedures cover 300 series stainless steels, Duplex and Super Duplex, Nitronic 50/60/50HS, Inconel 625, Monel 400 and K500, Hastelloy C276 and C22, UNS 17400 martensitic steel, and carbon steel including fine grain and low temperature grades, with dissimilar combinations of most of these. We also hold MMA, flux cored MIG and metal cored MIG procedures.
We are prepared to qualify welders where a particular procedure is not available. See our approved materials.

First-off parts and production welding
On machine TIG work, welding current, weld speed, arc gap, pulsing and sloping, shield and back-up gas, and wire feed are all controlled. Once a weld has been proved and inspected on first-off parts, the same settings can be used across the production batch.
- Send drawings, material grades and the welding standard your project specifies.
- Agree the procedure, inspection and NDT for the first-off parts.
- Weld and inspect the first-offs, with NDT where required.
- Weld the production batch with full weld records.

Inspection, NDT and traceability
We inspect our welds in-house, including borescope checks inside tube, and offer ferrite testing in-house or on site visits. All other NDT, including digital radiography, is subcontracted to an independent test laboratory, and our bespoke software provides real-time weld data capture and component traceability.
Send the specification your parts must meet, including the design code, the extent of NDT and the material and weld documentation required, so it can be reviewed before we quote. Read about inspection, assembly and testing.
